BREAKING NEWS: Pegboard Nerds crush Moombahcore track after another.
Alexander Odden and Michael Parsberg make up the Norwegian duo whom are called by Pegboard Nerds, and as of recent they’ve taken it upon themselves to run the Moombahcore game. It started off with their collaboration with Tristam and the massive festival shaker that they proceeded to create, given the name “Razor Sharp”. A Heavy and melodicly brillitant song, this is an amazing release from the independent label we should all know by now, Monstercat. Then only a couple hours ago they released their official remix of J. Viewz “Far Too Close” on Soundcloud and will you look at that, more Moombahcore! The beautiful Indie lyrics don’t prepare you for the destrucofunk that is soon to come! Perfect use of triplets, as per usual by the Nerds.
If this wasn’t enough to foreshadow their diabolical plan, Pegboard Nerds brand new EP coming out of all Moombahcore & Trap is titled “Guilty Pleasures“! The 4 track EP will also include a new fat greasy version of Razor Sharp they VIP’ed out to make even heavier; all while keeping at EDM’s greatest tempo 110! “So What” and “How You Feelin” are two of the best Moombahcore songs we’ve heard since Destroid released Funk Hole and Far Too Loud put out anything. They even seem to be some moombah snobs themselves as they noted the succes of their track on oddly placed GlitchHop.net; “Currently #1 Glitch Hop (Yes we know it’s not a glitch hop tune)”! Guilty Pleasures is out next week via Monstercat (US) and Disciple (Europe)!
Us over here at Moombroton really hope Pegboard Nerd’s continue on this path they’ve chosen because we need more producers like them in the Moombahton world helping spread the word of 110! Hopefully we can catch up with the duo to talk soon so stay tuned!

J-1, an up and coming all-genre artist from Chile, has definitely caught some attention over the past couple of months. Producing everything from moombahton to trap, J-1 is no stranger to giving us those heavy-hitting bass riffs and latin twists.
J-1’s remix of “Get Free” is definitely no exception. Even though it’s not quite in the moombahton genre, this track makes a superb transition when wanting to take your moombahton set in a different direction. Hailing in at 88BPM, this one is sure to light the crowd on fire. Be sure to check out his other tunes on Soundcloud.

Staying strong for the Moombahton family, we picked up SAVAGE!’s happy heavy Moombahcore, bootleg remix of Don Diablo‘s M1 Stinger (That was a mouthful)! Originally released for free by Viper Recordings it’s got all the best qualities of classic Moombahcore with them perfectly grooved Dem Bow drums and a snare that’s hard to forget all throughout the introduction.
Unlike the intro, the drop is a much more modern take on Moombahcore with bass synths much like Moombahton diety Dillon Francis. The chorus taken from Don Diablo’s original track is elegantly blended into the background and helps add the human feel to SAVAGE!’s wide assortment of electro sounds. We’d love to hear more tracks from SAVAGE! like this so be sure to head over to his social media pages and say what’s up!

I’ve been in a pretty serious relationship with Moombahton ever since I first had my heart stolen by Diplo at Global Dance Festival2011 when he played a solo set for Major Lazer. I couldn’t help but yell my new favorite word as loud as humanely possible with each 110 tune he dropped, MOOMBAHTON!
Times have changed greatly since then and many would say the genre has almost gone in reverse of popularity, much attributed to the rise of Trap and the overwhelming amount of Moombahton producers that decided Trap is where it’s at. But there’s still hope! Figure, of Never Say Die Records revealed in response to a Moombroton Question via Twitter Q&A that 110 is in fact still alive!
To do our part on this war against 110, we shall strive to be even more involved with the up and coming producers of Moombahton. So today I have a brand new original from Mexico native atomz. This is his first official Moombahton track and it’s ‘Something’. An energy filled original track, it’s true beauty stems from the never ending rhythm and harmonious synths to settle down those lasers! Atomz shows promise with this track and we can’t wait to hear more from him!

Now I know grills are not as popular as they were some years ago, being glorified by the likes of Three Six Mafia, Nelly, Lil Jon and most Hyphy movement rappers, but that is no reason to forget about them. “Gold Grillz” is an epic moombahton homage brought to us by the collaborative efforts of FootwoRk and PoundPoundPound. This track is packed with raw energy and is so in your face that you become helpless to the music. It may not make us all go out and drop a few grand on a grill, but it just might get some of us to do the gum wrapper method and start gigging to this banger! Ahh, the good ol’ days.
