Summer is here; for most of us. With summer comes a whole lot of releases by artists to be played out throughout the next few months. However, there is one release that will shadow them all. It comes from one of the most talented and consistent producers in the entire EDM scene, the one and only David Heartbreak. Brooklyn born, Heartbreak always brings his A-Game, which recently got him signed to Skrillex‘s highly acclaimed OWSLA label. To kick off this epic union, Heartbreak released a seven track EP entitled ‘The Foundation’. Each track brings something different to the table, with Heartbreak breaking genre barriers and fusing old aspects and styles with a neoteric attitude. Make sure to listen and cop this EP because if you do, then there is no possible way your summer will be lacking in the musical department. Heartbreak delivers in a big way.
We were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to interview Heartbreak as well! So while you take a listen to the EP, read through this revealing interview into the life and mind of David. Keep up to date on his projects and whereabouts because David has a bright future a head of him. He can be found on Facebook, Soundcloud and Twitter, or collectively at his own Website. Now, enjoy the following segments!

David Heartbreak Interview
Moombroton: First off, how did you get into music and more specifically EDM?
Heartbreak: I got into electronic music by Daft Punk. I actually purchased ‘Revolution 909′ back in the day and thought it was instrumentals (haha). But them along with Timbaland and Bjork, that was all EDM to me, plus I grew up listening to a lot of hip hop and rock, thats where I get my aggressive side from. Honeslty, I was very closed minded, I didn’t go as far as I do now into music, only regret I have. The types of music that you listen to says a lot about your personality.

Everyone’s May 6th should have been full of Savant and Knife Party. Savant teamed up with Adam K and JELO for a two song EP with some dope electro house. Knife Party released ‘Haunted House’ which was full of, well, more electro house! On the KP release, I do have to say that my favorite is “Power Glove”. Which is yours!? Next, things you need to stay tuned for. Two pictures have been posted, one showing the exportation of a “Thumbs Up” remix by Kill The Noise! The second is a lovely creeper pic from none other than Sir Dillon Francis himself, over the shoulder of Diplo. It says they are collabing, so let’s hope that’s true! That would be a massive track. Aaaaand here’s a third pic of Wolfgang’s epic cat tattoo. Now digest!
Shorne: The amount of anticipation that Daft Punk has built up for their upcoming album release of ‘Random Access Memories’ is starting to get a bit ridiculous. Between their fifteen second commercial spots on Saturday Night Live, and constant release in the Collaborator Series from musicians and producers that the French duo has been blessed to work with; everyone on the internet must know of its impending May 21st release. Now we’ve got an up close and personal interview with Guy-Manuel and Thomas Bangalter as they talk with Pete Tong about what they have been up to since their last world tour! Enjoy these inspirational words.

When I saw that Vonzie posted a new track that was deemed “Magic Moombah Trap” I thought to myself, “Ok, let’s see what exactly that means”. After listening, I totally could not disagree even a little bit with the genre title. “Hands Up” is an absolutely incredible track that exemplifies Vonzie’s production talent. The piano breakdown in the beginning is beautiful and sounds very real, which is what you look for in production. This track is perfect for a chill atmosphere, but I can totally see this being played at any type of venue. 808, spacey and chill. What more could you ask for?
Head over to Vonzie’s Facebook and SoundCloud to give him some love and stay tuned for more originals and remixes! And if you’re ever in the NY area, check him out if he has a performance, or if you have your own venue, book him!

I don’t know about all of you but ‘Chop Suey!’ by System Of A Down was one of my favorite songs throughout high school, so it definitely holds a special place in my heart. Well Astrolis took this classic hard rock / metal anthem and gave it the perfect moombah touch with some catchy vocal chops and driving synths with a beat much easier to dance to compared to the original. Make sure to snag the free DL because this is most definitely a crowd pleaser!!

Kaptain‘s first official EP release on KatHaus Records comes in the form of a massive Moombahton track appropriately titled “Steezy“! A dark electro influenced moombahton original, it is supported by remixes from Omeguh and Sentiflect; their Trap and Electro versions of Steezy show how catchy and versatile Kaptain’s original sounds are at any beats per minute. But better yet, in the Steezy VIP by Kaptain he shows us how fat and juicy only he could make his own sound.
As of recent Kaptain has been one of the most consistent producers in the Moombahton game and looks to have a big role in the rebirth of the genre, as we can all sadly see the lack of growth from the genre as a whole. But with every last moombahton release like this one we get another burst of hope for the takeover! Support Kaptain and purchase this from your local online music store!
