Trapfest, I don’t even know where to start… First of all, we would like to thank every single one of you that attended! All of you contributed to a night full of high energy and all around amazing vibes. From Beverly Trillz all the way to Bro Safari, every artist controlled the crowd with seamless mixing and fatty beats that probably had the entire street thuggin’ out.
To kick off the night we had artists such as Lexi Fey and Vinnie Maniscalo on the Got Bass stage throwing down some face melting bass facing type shit while Beverly Trillz was over holding down the main stage. The real party started when Trapzillas played a massive set which led straight into the almighty Luminox absolutely destroying the crowd. He could not have hyped the crowd up better for ETC!ETC! who definitely did not disappoint. By the time his set ended the energy was off the charts and everyone was pumped the fuck up for Bro Safari. As usual, he fulfilled the crowds needs with fat, grimy sausage bass which made for an all around gangster party.
All in all, the first installment of Trapfest was completely flawless and we here at Moombroton feel extremely blessed we were given the opportunity to be a part of everything. A big thank you once again to each of you that attended, I think we can all come to the conclusion that the trap actually ran us that night. Without further adieu I give you the official recap video and some photos from our homie over at 303 Photography. Let the (slight) memories commence for those who attended and jealousy for those who didn’t. Make sure to stay tuned in on the Trapfest Facebook though to see if the tour is coming to your town! Baueer’s Harlem Shake phenomenon has taken over the web with hundreds if not thousands of different takes on the hilarious dancing riot flash mob! This massive response from the EDM public has allowed for Baauer’s single “Harlem Shake” to take over the #1 overall spot on iTunes. A damn ridiculous feat for any electronic dance music producer! Mad props goest out to Baauer and I’m guessing the team responsible for his a residency spot at the new Cirque Du Soleil club “LIGHTS”.
To show our love for Baauer and Trap music as it continues its push to the top of the music chain, Moombroton.com teamed up with TRAPFEST and some of the rowdiest CU Boulder students we have ever met to create this epic version of Harlem Shake! The slow motion edit right as the trap bass drops is ridiculously cool and you can really see all the funny shit that is going on right up front! My personal favorite is the dude smashing the chair over and over into submission, but the girls with “Get Weird” on their asses is pretty damn funny as well. The crazy flips, handsprings, and tumbling in the first half of the video was courtesy of Ozell Williams, whom you may also catch performing at CU events as well as some Bronco games.
Needless to say, this Moombroton and Trapfest edition of Harlem Shake is one of the best ones yet and really shows you the rowdy hearted spirit of EDM and CU Boulder students!
Now with over 220 million plays on Youtube, Psy and his Gangnam Style dance moves are taking over the viral world! And with this trapped out remix from Victor Niglio, he hopes to take over dance floors with some fat 808 bass.
Deciding to go with a growl blip hybrid noise instead of the high pitch blip that trap can tends to use, he makes the right choice and fills the room with it. It gives the track a huge festival / big room feel that seems to be making the difference in a good and bad trap beat. Victor Niglio succesfully improves on this quirky Korean hit, but like usual sub bass suggested!
After realizing that I have seriously slacked on the videos and youtube side of Moombroton, I’ve got a sick new video from motorsport company DriftHobby, that happens to intro in with Stetech’s latest. Born Ready’s intro was perfect for this video and as soon as it drops you get to see Tiago Romano tear it up in his pink Nissan. And in case you missed it the first time, here’s the download from Steptech! enjoy.
Paper Diamond has quickly become a house hold dance music name, and he continues to push his boundaries with this killer EP release of Wavesight on the massive moombahton supporters label, Mad Decent. After his first EP Levitate blew up on his own label Elm & Oak, he’s gotten to work with some huge names like Bassnectar, Diplo, Big Gigantic, and plenty more; and you can see all the influences come through in this new EP.
His chill yet driving synths is what really sets him apart from the other PLM artists and they shine through on all three tracks. The moombah song is the first on the EP, and combined with help from Nasimiyu they crush it with some very sick laser siren sounds that come in just at the right time. And Can We Go Up is four to the floor dubstep tune so you’re gonna wanna make sure to grab that too! enjoy.
