Summer is here; for most of us. With summer comes a whole lot of releases by artists to be played out throughout the next few months. However, there is one release that will shadow them all. It comes from one of the most talented and consistent producers in the entire EDM scene, the one and only David Heartbreak. Brooklyn born, Heartbreak always brings his A-Game, which recently got him signed to Skrillex‘s highly acclaimed OWSLA label. To kick off this epic union, Heartbreak released a seven track EP entitled ‘The Foundation’. Each track brings something different to the table, with Heartbreak breaking genre barriers and fusing old aspects and styles with a neoteric attitude. Make sure to listen and cop this EP because if you do, then there is no possible way your summer will be lacking in the musical department. Heartbreak delivers in a big way.
We were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to interview Heartbreak as well! So while you take a listen to the EP, read through this revealing interview into the life and mind of David. Keep up to date on his projects and whereabouts because David has a bright future a head of him. He can be found on Facebook, Soundcloud and Twitter, or collectively at his own Website. Now, enjoy the following segments!

David Heartbreak Interview
Moombroton: First off, how did you get into music and more specifically EDM?
Heartbreak: I got into electronic music by Daft Punk. I actually purchased ‘Revolution 909′ back in the day and thought it was instrumentals (haha). But them along with Timbaland and Bjork, that was all EDM to me, plus I grew up listening to a lot of hip hop and rock, thats where I get my aggressive side from. Honeslty, I was very closed minded, I didn’t go as far as I do now into music, only regret I have. The types of music that you listen to says a lot about your personality.

EDM Digest: Installment 003 w/ Dirt Monkey, Psychologic, TJR & More!

Everyone knows the Grammy news, so do I really have to say that Skrillex won three of them? Besides for the Grammy wins, there is more Skrillex news, but this time A-Trak and Diplo are directly involved. These three are joining forces to form a youtube channel entitled “POTATO“. They plan on releasing mixes, having audio premieres and a plethora of other goodies for us to enjoy. On a sour note, Azelia Banks has more beef, this time with our buddy Baauer, who produced the track “Harlem Shake”, which created a viral craze. She apparently made an uncredited vocal edit that Baauer was not down for. She chose to use some choice words in replying to his level-headed claim. This is not the first time she has had this issue, having had similar beef with Munchi previously.
Now to the music. For this week’s digest we have some great tunes for you guys! Make sure to head to the artists Facebook pages and give them some love as well. Do enjoy!
Shorne: Psychologic shows off the extent of his production diversity with this brand new electro house collaboration with Droptalk titled “In To Pieces”. Unlike most 128 bpm tracks, they start off with a half time intro and epic percussion, specifically some big room jungle drums and Koan Sound like snares. Not what you would expect at all. In To Pieces features a little bit of everything you could possibly want in an electro house song!

Dirt Monkey feat Anna Yvette – Hurt So Good : Sexy Moombahton / Glitch + Ishe Trap Remix, Play Me Records

Play Me and Play Me Too has consistently been one of my favorite dance music labels since the time I started to even care about that kind of thing. And with another Moombahton release from Dirt Monkey and with the aid of Anna Yvette’s wonderful voice, they keep that streak going with this Beatport Top 10 charter, Hurt So Good.
Patrick (Dirt Monkey) continues to go above and beyond with his production quality, and it is setting him leaps and bounds in front of other up and coming artists. Anna Yvette has the perfect voice to go over this heavier style, and Dirt Monkey does a fantastic job using her sexy voice in all the right places. Pick this up over at Beatport and support our friends!

Somehow I forgot to mention the super dope trap remix of Hurt So Good from Ishe but don’t let that turn you away from it. In a world filled with everyone making the same trap song, it’s awesome to find something unique like this. Sub recommended.
