Everyone knows the Grammy news, so do I really have to say that Skrillex won three of them? Besides for the Grammy wins, there is more Skrillex news, but this time A-Trak and Diplo are directly involved. These three are joining forces to form a youtube channel entitled “POTATO“. They plan on releasing mixes, having audio premieres and a plethora of other goodies for us to enjoy. On a sour note, Azelia Banks has more beef, this time with our buddy Baauer, who produced the track “Harlem Shake”, which created a viral craze. She apparently made an uncredited vocal edit that Baauer was not down for. She chose to use some choice words in replying to his level-headed claim. This is not the first time she has had this issue, having had similar beef with Munchi previously.
Now to the music. For this week’s digest we have some great tunes for you guys! Make sure to head to the artists Facebook pages and give them some love as well. Do enjoy!
Shorne: Psychologic shows off the extent of his production diversity with this brand new electro house collaboration with Droptalk titled “In To Pieces”. Unlike most 128 bpm tracks, they start off with a half time intro and epic percussion, specifically some big room jungle drums and Koan Sound like snares. Not what you would expect at all. In To Pieces features a little bit of everything you could possibly want in an electro house song!

Dirt Monkey and Point.Blank recently took over the charts with their filthy genre defying “BOH” EP; courtesy of the notoriously grimy Play Me Records. Ranging from some booty bouncin’ trap to some straight medieval glitch hop, the release traverses a wide variety of sounds but definitely stays damn gnarly the whole way through.
Point.Blank’s melodies are just too damn groovy to not head bob as soon as “Medieval” drops into some dark age glitch! I had never noticed the similarity between Dirt Monkey and Point.Blank’s production style till now, but they are quite complimenting. Teaming up on the similarly titled track “Boh”, they create a 140 bpm dubstep tune that will tear an intergalactic hole in any set of speakers. And now you can get in on this action too!
Dirt Monkey and Point.Blank have decided to do a little remix competition for this monster! Announced February 1st, the “Winner will be picked based on who makes the best remix, not who can get the most votes”! Grand Prize is a release on Play Me!! Read more details on the contest Facebook page.

MUST DIE! has begun his grand entrance into the dance music world with a huge free album titled ‘VINES‘ release on DIM MAK Records featuring some amazing original dubstep, electro, and many a remixes; including Dirt Monkey‘s raging moombahton remix of Wheels Theme. I have only been hearing great things about Atlanta based producer MUST DIE! and the whole album really is quite amazing, so I can now see why. He has a very unique punchy sound that allows for even the heaviest of sounds seem light.
Their wasn’t really any original mid tempo tracks off the album to share, but I couldn’t resist featuring another track from the never disappointing Dirt Monkey. His atmospheric bass fills your ears with some true booty bouncing music. I highly recommend downloading the entire album on MUST DIE! Facebook!

Moombroton’s One Year Anniversary will be upon us in no time, so we decided to celebrate in epic style with all of you by teaming up with The Dankles and Monark Clothing on Wednesday November 7th to bring you: Sound Remedy, Dirt Monkey, AMB, Papa Skunk & Oddly Even at the Absinthe House in Boulder Colorado!
This will mark Sound Remedy’s first show in Boulder, and we will be going all out with a dope light setup to assure that we bring down the house that night! With his Hype Machine topping remixes and his ridiculous trap remix of “BAPTISM” by Crystal Castles that you all loved, his set is sure to please. But not before you’ve gotten a healthy filling of moombahton, glitch and all other sorts of baby making music from our promising lineup of support. Dirt Monkey has been featured on moombroton more than any other producer, so you could imagine how excited I am to be able to bring him on for our first show. AMB is coming all the way from Budapest, Hungary to tour alongside Colorado’s own crunk producer Papa Skunk who you may have seen at this most recent Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks! And we decided to get even a bit more weird with openers Oddly Even who crushed it as support for Lazerdisk Party Sex at The Fox last May.
If all this killer music wasn’t enough, Monark Clothing will be releasing their brand new winter line before the show at Absinthe House! More details to come on t-shirt giveaways and how you will be able to get ahold of some sick new Monark gear. Also a special thanks to Boulder Beats for making this all possible! You can purchase tickets directly below so get them while they’re hot!
