Now let me tell you from first hand experience that this festival is definitely the top contender when it comes to EDM shows in Colorado. Obviously the beautiful venue plays a major role but the production and all around vibe calls for a one of a kind experience. Last year I had the pleasure of seeing artists such as Knife Party, Hardwell, Zeds Dead, Excision, and Dillon Francis rock the stage with seamless mixing and massive choons.

Well for the 11th year in a row Global Dance Festival is back at Red Rocks July 19th thru the 21st. They still haven’t released the full lineup yet, but who they have announced so far reassures us that the rest of the artists are gonna be some heavy hitters. July 19: Beats Antique, EOTO, Emancipator, Ott, Zoogma, Signal Path, and Sorne. July 20th: Savoy, Sander van Doorn, Arty, Emma Hewitt, Carnage, K-Theory, and Ecotek. July 21st: Mimosa, GRiZ, Gramatik, Baauer & RL Grime, Kill Paris, and Seven Lions. Can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces there!

I’m hearing rumors that tickets are almost 75% sold out, so grab em before they’re gone right here: http://bit.ly/GDF2012Tix

With yet another release, MUST DIE! continues taking the scene by storm and make a lasting impression with hard hitting bass and driving UK type synths. This EP titled ‘Caffeine’ is no different than the previous ones, meaning that you are likely to get the fuck down in the middle of the room by yourself. Every track is a must hear and there is even an appearance from Jaws who is a member of Terravita.

Released by none other than Datsik’s Firepower Records, you will find the normal skanky, in your face type bangers, but there are also a few songs that show us MUST DIE!’s vast range of skills. ‘The Arena’ is the intro song and its some 140 dance type biz that is sure to get anyone groovin’. ‘Symmetry’ is the one he collabed on with Jaws. Surprisingly he is actually just being featured on the vocals, but I’m sure he contributed a bit production wise. Lastly, the outro song titled ‘Nightwatch’ I can safely say is definitely the most unique song on the EP. Filled with a plethora of what sounds like Violins, I can picture a large orchestra playing this out beautifully. Turn up that volume knob, enjoy!

Skream was one of the first dubstep producers that I ever got into and after hearing their unforgettable UK bass live he will always hold a special place in my music listening history. But today we’ve got his latest collaboration “Kingpin” with the creator of Shogun Audio, Friction, with a bit of a Moombahton / Moombahcore twist courtesy of Jay Fay.

The last track we posted from Jay Fay was a remix of Baby, I love You. Super crunchy and hard style influenced he takes this one in a new direction, and you can see how he has grown purely from the arrangement in his remix of Friction. I must say, it is very similar to Dillon Francis’ style of Moombahton drop but hey, most of the best producers out there learn from attempting to imitate so good for Jay Fay. Enjoy this giant bouncy moombahton remix!

Taiki & NUlight- Coming Up (JSM Remix) : New UK TRAP!

If you’re at home instead of Ultra Music Festival this weekend, then enjoy this marvelous remix from the UK based producer JSM. James Steer-Matthews, aka JSM, takes Taiki & NUlight‘s “Coming Up” and turns it into a bass heavy trap track that incorporates the great style of UK dubstep. His tracks are filled with powerful bass lines and energy that’s hard to match. This remix in particular highlights his ability to merge genres and create a middle ground for the sounds he uses. “Coming Up” is a well produced trap track that has a chaotic drop. As for the chorus of the track, it’s hyped and very loud but still very smooth to the ears.

He has several 15 – 25 minute mix’s and his most recent track called ‘This Isn’t Dubstep’ aired on the last BBC Introducing show of the year. JSM is set to release an e.p in 2013, with no particular genre favored but rather a variety that he says will be an “interesting mix of sounds to the project”. This is only the beginning for a young producer like him with a lot of talent and direction.

Enjoy!
