Independent record labelss are becoming industry standard for the electronic dance music scene, partly thanks to the cost effective nature of digitally distributed music and what seems like an infinitely growing fan base. With such a thriving environment many can rise to the top quickly, but not without passing up many of their lost competitors.
The team over here at Moombroton tries to feature music that is evolving, or next level in nature. Music that pushes the envelope of boundaries already set by the growing culture. And a lot more often than not, we post multiple articles featuring the same record label. These Premiere Dance Record Labels (PDRL) episodes will now feature our favorite labels, and act as a centralized place to find information on any new or old music released by them on Moombroton!
In a gruesome fashion, Kannibalen Records holds down the spotlight on our first edition of PDRL! Dreamed up by Black Tiger Sex Machine, this group of growing producers is sure to bring the filth with each coming release. We first heard BTSM when they were remixed by site favorites Milo & Otis.
Out of Montreal Canada, Kannibalen also hosts a monthly tribal party at the Belmont night club to show off all their fresh meat! Read the rest of this entry »
Kannibalen records continues to crush with another massive EP release and the first thing we’ve heard from Kai Wachi. Filled to the brim with energy, this three track EP has something new to offer with each track. And if you missed the last release from Kannibalen check that out here.
Kannibal is the closest to Moombahton of the three, even though I don’t think songs need to be clasified, and it’s surely a new take on the genre that I hadn’t heard before. Super grimy, but with such a catchy beat it does it just right. But after listening to Amnesty, it’s hard not to pick it as a favorite of the three. With a ghastly atmosphere vibe and a dirty driving synth this track really gets me going. But check out the whole EP and enjoy!
With students everywhere returning to college campuses around the US, this weekend is about to be one for the ages for countless of us. And what better way to start it off than with this sexy electro / moombahton EP “Pushin’ On” from our friends over at Kannibalen Records, Thomas Kelle and Martin Juha. Which is ran by Black Tiger Sex Machine; you just might remember Milo & Otis’ Remix for their latest release!
This Hungarian duo show off the possibilities of the funky 110 beat per minute range with more of an electro house vibe compared to the usual moombahton beat patterns. Personally my favorite track on the EP is Queen Kong, but that’s cause Ive been digging the hard punchy stye that producers like Dillon Francis and Porter have previously used. But all the tracks are worth a listen! enjoy.
